INTERNATIONAL
Part of a Worldwide Family of Service
The Freedom District Lions Club is one of the many Lions clubs that make up Lions Clubs International, the world’s largest service club organization. Lions Clubs International was founded in Chicago on June 7, 1917, and today more than 1.4 million Lions serve in about 50,000 clubs in over 200 countries and regions.
Lions everywhere share the same motto, “We Serve.” Locally, our club belongs to Lions District 22-W in Western Maryland. Worldwide, Lions service is supported by Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF), the Lions’ global foundation, which has awarded more than US$1.3 billion in grants since 1968.
